How to Choose the Right Technology Partners

Jessica Hayes April 22, 2020

How many vendor calls do you get in a given week? Have they slowed down since COVID-19, or are you being bombarded now more than ever? I’ve been inspired by some of my friends in sales who are using this time to reconnect with all of their customers. They are on zoom calls all day in an effort to understand their customers’ particular challenges in terms of occupancy, forecasting, event planning, and marketing. The good technology partners can readily pull historic data (from the cloud), and help their hotel partners strategically plan for what is next (in spite of the uncertainty).

The Greek root of the word crisis is “to sift,” and I’m sincerely hoping the gift of this crisis will be that when the hospitality industry comes back, only the most authentic companies made up of people, who are deeply rooted in the principles of hospitality will remain. On behalf of my hotelier friends, I’ve been using this time to evaluate the technology companies that are openly communicating -- the ones that are transparent and yet optimistic. Leadership is more crucial than ever, and it is refreshing to talk to people in the industry who are incredibly engaged with their leadership and are collaborating as a team to make adjustments and plan for the future.

If you are feeling overwhelmed during this time, I’m happy to help you sift through your choices. Based on my research, can help make technology recommendations for:

Event Management/Group Sales

Revenue Management

Housekeeping

Guest Services Tech

and more. This has been really challenging for everyone in our industry, and Hayespitality is here to do our part. Please reach out with questions or challenges. If we learn to collaborate better, listen to each other, and use the data strategically, together we will come out of this stronger than ever.
